After installing Phoenix Service Software, please install latest product

If you want to use FPS-11, please download separate FPS-11 driver package.
If you are installing this version of Phoenix on a new Imaged PC, and you are
using FLS-4S or FLS-5 during the install, then install the FLS-X drivers first.

Known errors & limitations:
- Please do not use this Phoenix version when updating the SW for
N96 (RM-247) products. The flash algorithm files in flash update
package 09_11_04 will cause APE CCC corruption. For more details,
please see Service Bulletin RM-247 SB-015. New flash update
package will be released shortly.
- Software downgrade with Tucson system is only possible for BB 5.0
products supporting the Data Package 2 concept.
- Flashing with FLS-5, SS-46 and product specific adapter is not reliable for
all BB 5.0 products
- USB flashing for N96 is not stable
- Tucson add on package will be released soon to improve Tucson stability
- Flash Update Package File installation path may be wrong. If you
experience problems when updating FPS-x prommers, please check that
Phoenix “Prommer maintenance” is looking for the files from the correct
location which is “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\Flash”. If
not, Phoenix will show error “Update via ini – file failed”. In this case, select
“Update” from that Phoenix “Prommer maintenance” – UI, browse to
correct directory and select “fpsxupd.ini” for all other prommers except the
FPS-8.
- Multi Flash has limited capabilities, launch Multiflash UI first and then
connect phones one by one, do not attempt to service more than 5 phones
at the time.



Installation:
If you have Phoenix Service SW version 2007.4.6.170 or older you must
uninstall it before installing this release.
1. Download phoenix_service_sw_2009_4_11_37849.exe – application file
from Genie FTP to your computer (e.g. C:\TEMP)
2. Close all other programs
3. Run phoenix_service_sw_2009_4_11_37849.exe and follow instructions
on the screen to install Phoenix Service Software.
4. Connect a dongle (PK-1, PKD-1, FLS-4S, FLS-5) when message appears
on the screen
5. If you are prompted to update any existing driver or file versions, select
“yes”
6. Depending on the operating system PC may require rebooting
7. Allow Windows to register Phoenix components
8. Open Phoenix and update your prommer with the latest software included
in this installation package
9. Use the latest available product specific data packages or flash bundles
with new multi protocol Phoenix.

Genie BB5 RPL Realtime Logger Updates

This thread will list all updates and features of the BB5 Logger for Genie device.

Main features:

- Ability to repair damaged simlock data in BB5 Rapido phones
- Realtime server operation or via ASK/RPL files
- It can rebuild fully erased simlock after full erase
- It can create default 'unlocked' RPL file
- It can create locking RPL file from provided simlock.bin file
- It can back up simlock from locked phone as simlock.bin
- It can generate unlock codes when locking a phone
- It can read simlock status
- Generated RPL file from server is saved to a file as backup

How To Use:

- Connect Genie to a PC via mini USB cable
- Run log.amx in your device via the keypad
- USB device will show in Windows(install drivers if first run)
- Start BB5Logger.exe in Windows and press 'Connect'
- Connect a phone to Genie via the adapter
- Tick 'Use Server' and enter your UN/PW
- Press 'Read', allow internet access from your Firewall
- The RPL file will be saved in the program directory
- Press 'Write', select RPL file and continue

How much does it cost:

- Calculating RPL file by our server will take away 15 credits from

There is a new version of the BB5 RPL logger for Genie. Now we support all RAP3
Nokia phones. With this version almost all BB5 phones are supported for simlock
repair via RPL file.

Things you should keep in mind:

- You need good quality cable and adapter with all lines (incl RX2 and VPP)
- You will be charged on reading ask file and calculating RPL as follows:
read - 35 credits
calc - 15 credits
so total: 50 credits per one unlock
- If for some reason(bad cable, error connection) the read fails, you will be
still charged 35 credits
- You can perfectly read ask and calculate rpl for SL3 firmware phone and
because there is no HW diff between SL2 and SL3 phones, you will be still
charged 50 credits, but upload will fail. So make sure you press Upload first
in bb5notp.exe to check if this is SL3 phone (off course this will work only
on phones with valid PM, if the phone is erased detection will not be correct)

FAQ:

Q: How much is 50 credits ?
A: Around 15 Euro if you buy the smallest credit pack and around 8.5 Euro if
you buy the most expensive package.

Q: My calculation was ok, but on upload i got error 15, can i get my credits back ?
A: Off course not, you did an SL3 phone and you didnt spend the time to
read the precautions.

Q: I have good cable that works with JAF,UB,MTBOX, Asda beans can from 9 pence
etc, but with the logger i got error 10 on sending code and i am charged 35 credits,
can i get a refund ?

A: Again no, its your responsibility to test the cable by other means first and
preserve server bandwidth for other Genie users as well.

Q: I have good RX2 cable, unlocked many phones with the logger but sometimes i
have to do the read twice, the first time fails, but second time is
ok, can i get the refund for the first credits lost ?

A: This is caused by noisy interface as the RX2 communication is quite fast and
error prone. We will not refund the lost credits as we don't have time
keep track on every server operation. Using the service for RAP3 phones is
entirely on users risk.

Q: I have read all Q&A and I am crazy enough to buy credits, where do i get
them from ?

A: You can buy from here.

Requirements:

How to:
Download latest Genie Suite 1.1 from here (http://genieuniversal.com/downloads/GenieSuite1.1.exe)
Uninstall old Suite, and Install GenieSuite1.1
your clip must have at least v186r in order to update 191r,
if your clip has not fw 186r, you need to update it manually:
-download osim.sef 186r from here (http://genieuniversal.com/downloads/0.186.zip)
-extract osim.sef to your system folder while overwriting old osim.sef
-restart clip, press firmware update
your clip is 186r:
-open GenieSuite1.1
-click Genie Update Client
-Get Drive, mark Genie10xxxx, press Update
-restart Genie, press right button, USB OS UPDATE
Open SL X Remote Tools 0.28:
-go to About Tab, Press Update OS

after that your Clip is 191r, and you can use new PM Tool v0.5 by
clicking PERMANENT MEMORY TOOL in GenieSuite1.1

New Update has following fixes and updates:
-Standalone Custom SX4 Auth
-GenieSuite1.1 incl Manuals and no fonts on classic theme fixed

Успешно обновил Genie по этой инструкции-
1. download genie suite 1.1 : http://genieuniversal.com/downloads/GenieSuite1.1.exe and install it
2. download and unzip to your desktop : http://genieuniversal.com/downloads/0.186.zip
3. connect clip via usb cable and select mode/usb disk
4. copy osimg.sef file from your desktop to system folder on clip
5. unplug cable and plug power in, press mode/firmware update
6. unplug power and connect usb cable then select mode usb disk
7. launch genie updater from genie suite menu
8. press get drive, followed by update and wait until complete.
9. unplug usb cable and re-attatch it, select mode/usb OS update
10. install drivers manually if needed from drivers folder "C:\Program Files\GenieSuite\Drivers"
11. once installed launch "SLX REMOTE TOOLS" from genie suite
12. go to about tab and press "Update OS" button

After this install stanalone dct4+ unlocker script
1. download installer from http://www.genieuniversal.com/downloads/DCT4Plus.exe
2. connect clip via usb cable and select mode/usb disk
3. install aplication directly to clip drive

P.S. Замечанее по 8-му пункту. Желательно подключить ещё и кабель питания. Апдейт может начатся не сразу, не отключайте Genie от компютера, дождитесь.

Hi,

Here latest Genie updates:

1. We have new version of Remote Tools today, v 1.29

2. Also glad to notify Genie users - now RPL calculation service on our server
is fully free to all Genie users:

- No need to have account
- You can do Simlock RPL for all BB5 (except SL3)
- You can do SuperDongle RPL for all BB5

3. Major bug fix on the two genie device drivers

4. And offcourse the SX4 auth is fully standalone with Genie - no need for
internet connection, Smart Card etc.
